Achieve goal of TB elimination by 2025: Governor Abdul Nazeer tells officials 
Vijayawada, July 16:    Governor of Andhra Pradesh Sri S. Abdul Nazeer said early identification and treatment is the key to achieving the goal of eliminating TB by 2025. Officials of State and Central government have made a presentation to Governor on implementation of TB Mukt Bharat Abhiyan in the State at a meeting held in Raj Bhavan here on Wednesday. 
    Governor Sri Abdul Nazeer stressed on the need to focus on strengthening community engagement through Jan Bhagidari activities and to ensure inter-departmental convergence for effective elimination of TB. The Governor has registered his name in the Ni-skhay portal and was issued an ID card by the officials. Dr. Bhawani Singh Kushwaha, TB Officer, CTD, Dr. D. Dharma Rao, National Consultant (Ni-kshay Mitra Initiative), and Dr. T. Ramesh, Joint Director, TB, briefed the Governor on the steps being taken for successful implementation of TB Mukt Bharat Abhiyan to eliminate TB in the State. 
    Later Dr. M. Hari Jawaharlal, E.O. Secretary to Governor, handed over a cheque of Rs.84,000 to the officials for distribution of nutrition baskets to twenty TB patients, on behalf of the Governor. Sri P.S. Suryaprakash, Joint Secretary to Governor, Shri Gangadhar Das, Public Health Specialist, CTD, Dr. Bhanu Naik, DLAT Officer, NTR District, Dr. T. Dheeraj, WHO Consultant, and Dr. V. Jaswanth Kumar, MO, TB-HIV, have attended the meeting.
