Amaravati Restart a Grand Success, Say Officials and Leaders

Vijayawada, May 3, 2025 – The grand relaunch of Amaravati as Andhra Pradesh's capital city was hailed as a historic and successful event by both citizens and political leaders. Minister for Information, Public Relations, and Housing Kolusu Parthasarathy addressed the press on Saturday at his office on Bandar Road and stated that people across the state were delighted with the outcome of the event.

Highlighting Prime Minister Narendra Modi's praise for Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu, the Minister said, “Modi calling Amaravati the capital of the gods signifies its divine importance. Naturally, where gods reside, demons also try to disrupt — referring to the past rulers who attempted to derail Amaravati's progress.” He noted that the PM lauded Naidu’s vision and leadership, adding that over 50 million Telugu people stand in support of the Chief Minister.

The PM inaugurated development works worth Rs. 58,000 crores from the Amaravati platform and projected Amaravati as the future hub for AI, IT, and quantum computing. The state government believes Amaravati will soon emerge as the number one city globally.

Parthasarathy criticized the previous administration for ridiculing Amaravati as “Bhramaravati” and creating fear and confusion among its residents. He condemned their absence at the relaunch event despite being invited and urged them to finally acknowledge Amaravati’s significance.

Referring to the coalition government, the Minister said it stands with the poor and is focused on creating 2 million employment opportunities for youth. He also credited Chief Minister Naidu with proving the feasibility of both the Polavaram and Banakacharla river-linking projects, which aim to provide water to every acre of farmland in the state.

The Minister also mentioned that the massive turnout at the Amaravati event exceeded transportation capacity, with thousands of citizens unable to make it to the venue. He emphasized the Prime Minister’s appreciation for Naidu’s administration as a symbol of commitment to Andhra Pradesh’s progress.

On the fire incident during the event, Parthasarathy assured that the police investigation would reveal whether foul play was involved. He declared that all doubts about Amaravati's future have now been put to rest.

He concluded by saying, “Those who once spread venom against Amaravati and tried to destroy its dream must feel remorse. Even if the people don’t forgive them, perhaps God will.” The Minister reaffirmed that the coalition government is taking necessary steps to ensure Amaravati’s legal status as the state capital.
