Several reports claimed that the station master of this railway station died after seeing a woman in a white saree walking on the tracks.Initially, the railway administration dismissed rumors about Begunkodar station. The station remained closed for 42 years. However, Mamata Banerjee reopened it in 2009 during her tenure as railways minister.
