Nagababu Set To Become MLC In Andhra Pradesh as under the MLA quota

Actor and politician Konidela Nagendra Babu (Nagababu), brother of 'Megastar' Chiranjeevi and Andhra Pradesh Deputy CM Pawan Kalyan, is set to enter the Andhra Pradesh Legislative Council. Jana Sena Party (JSP) president Pawan Kalyan has finalised Nagababu’s name as the party’s candidate for the upcoming MLC elections under the MLA quota as part of the alliance with Telugu Desam Party (TDP) and Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP).

Nagababu, who serves as the state general secretary of JSP, has been instructed to file his nomination for the Member of Legislative Council (MLC) elections. The party office has been directed by Pawan Kalyan to prepare the necessary documents to facilitate the process.

The announcement comes just months after CM Chandrababu Naidu announced his willingness to induct Nagababu into Andhra Pradesh cabinet, as per a report on Deccan Chronicle. 

This move is seen as a significant step in strengthening JSP’s representation in the legislative process. His nomination aligns with the party’s strategy to place senior leaders in crucial legislative roles, ensuring greater influence in policymaking.

Who Is Nagababu?

Konidela Nagendra Rao is a political figure and a key supporter of Jana Sena’s vision and policies. He is also an actor and producer in Telugu cinema. Primarily known for his supporting and antagonist roles, Nagendra Babu has also portrayed lead characters in select films.

Born on October 29, 1961, he has earned accolades, including a National Film Award. He has also bagged two Nandi Awards for his contributions as a producer

His acting credits include 143, Anji, Shock, Sri Ramadasu, Chandamama, and Orange. As a producer, he has collaborated with his elder brother Chiranjeevi and younger brother Pawan Kalyan, under the banner of Anjana Productions. He is the father of actor Varun Tej and Niharika
