STAFF REPORTER

A day after the devastating Ahmedabad plane crash, Prime Minister Narendra Modi visited the injured at the Ahmedabad Civil Hospital. There he met the 11-A 'miracle survivor', Vishwash Kumar Ramesh, who not just survived the crash but even walked out of the flaming debris. Ramesh was the lone survivor from the Air India flight, which carried 242 people

What Did Vishwash Ramesh Tell PM Modi?

Vishwas said that PM Modi asked him about his health and how the crash occurred. "I told him all about it. It all happened in front of my eyes; I cannot believe how I survived the crash. For some time, I felt that I, too, was going to die. But when I opened my eyes, I saw that I was alive. My seat belt was clipped on. I took it off and I tried to get out any way I could. No one around me was conscious."

"When the plane took off, within a minute, for a few seconds it seemed that the plane was stuffed; green and white lights came on. After that, it directly entered the building, the side where I was, did not land in the hostel; it landed on the ground. When I saw that the door was broken, I thought I could try to get out of here as there was a wall of the building on the opposite side. No one would have been able to get out of there. There was just a tiny space where I was.

"When the fire broke out. My left hand also got burned. The ambulance brought me to the hospital, and the people here are very supportive and are treating me very well," he said.

PM Modi Visits Crash Site

The Ahmedabad-London flight was fueled up for the long-haul trip. This resulted in the massive flames within seconds of the crash.

PM Modi also visited the crash site. "The scene of devastation is saddening. Met the officials and teams working tirelessly in the aftermath. Our thoughts remain with those who lost their loved ones in this unimaginable tragedy," he posted on X.
