Ram Navami 2025: Puja Vidhi

Observing the correct rituals and puja vidhi is essential to fully honour the significance of Ram Navami. Here’s how devotees typically perform the puja:

1. Prepare for the puja: Commit to observing a vrat (fast), wake up early, bathe and offer water to the sun while chanting sacred mantras.
2. Clean and decorate the puja area with fresh flowers, rangoli and diyas to create a serene atmosphere.
3. Perform Abhishek of Lord Ram’s idol using Gangajal, Panchamrit and water at 12:00 PM, the auspicious birth hour. Lotus flowers and tulsi leaves are essential for the puja.
4. Conduct the Shodashopachara Puja, a 16-step devotional ritual, to honour Lord Ram with incense, lamps, flowers and offerings.
5. Prepare bhog (sacred offering), including kheer, fruits and traditional delicacies, to present to the deity.
