Amaravati: YSRCP president and former Chief Minister YS Jaganmohan Reddy on Tuesday called upon the party’s youth to actively confront the TDP-led government’s alleged ‘anti-people agenda’.
Addressing the YSRCP youth wing meeting at the party headquarters in Tadepalli, Reddy urged members to connect with people, highlight public concerns, and use social media to counter the NDA government’s alleged ‘failures and atrocities’. “This is your time to lead—go to people, bring influencers to the party (YSRCP), and expose the alleged misdeeds of the government online and on the ground,” said Reddy in a press release.
Recollecting YSRCP’s origins, he noted the party started with just two MLAs and overcame odds despite political isolation, winning massive support in bypolls post-2010.
He alleged that TDP poached 23 of 67 YSRCP MLAs after the 2014 polls and added that the party resisted pressure while standing firmly with the people throughout.
The opposition leader asked the youth to emulate that courage, stressing that their present efforts would define their future and help YSRCP regain strength among the masses and online platforms.
The YSRCP supremo emphasised regular self-assessment, public engagement, and digital activism as essential tools to counter the coalition’s government and reinforce the party’s grassroots network.
The YSRCP founder announced that zone-wise working presidents would be appointed for the Youth Wing, which would include promising leaders likely to contest future Assembly elections. Meanwhile, there was no immediate reaction from the ruling TDP
