From January 21 to 31, 2025, you can see six planets, Venus, Mars, Jupiter, Saturn, Uranus and Neptune, in the night sky at the same time. This event, called the “Parade of Planets,” happens when several planets appear to line up together in the sky, even though they are far apart in the space.

Where to Find the Planets

 

• After Sunset, Venus, Mars, and Saturn can be seen in the west.
• Jupiter will be visible, with Mars just below it, in the east.
• Uranus can be seen in the southwest near Jupiter
• Neptune will be close to Saturn.

What Is a Planetary Parade?
A planetary parade, or alignment, is when planets appear to line up in the night sky. They aren’t actually lined up in space but look like they are from Earth.

How to Get the Best View
For a clear view, find a place with less city light, like a hill or open area. You can see the alignment with your eyes, but a telescope will help you see it more clearly.

Other Alignments in 2025

• January 25: Mercury will join the alignment.

• March 8 (tentative): Another alignment will include all seven planets, Mars, Jupiter, Uranus, Venus, Neptune, Saturn and Mercury.
