Principal secretary (School Education) Praveen Prakash has said all shoes to be distributed to students of classes 1 to 10, should be transported to the respective schools by June 5. He asked school education officials to ensure that all children get their school kits on the day schools reopen on June 12. Praveen Prakash said the government has decided to provide black shoes and two pairs of socks to all students from classes 1 to 10. He said he had visited the shoe manufacturing factories, like he had earlier visited the school bag manufacturers.
The shoes will be suitable for foot sizes from 16 cm to 30 cm. The principal secretary said the upper part of the shoe will be of polyvinyl chloride (PVC) material with a thickness of 1.8mm +- 0.22 mm. He said the sole part should be made of material with a density of 0.85 +- 0.10 grams / cm³. Ensuring the quality and supply of products is not only the company's but also the responsibility of officers, he added.
