Prof. T.V. Kattimani, Hon’ble Vice-Chancellor, CTUAP highlighted that Indian knowledge system should be spread across and should be documented very well and for this CTUAP will initiate talk series on IKS with experts all over India.
Every year National science Day is celebrated February 28th every year. It commemorates the discovery of the "Raman Effect" by Indian Physicist Sir C.V. Raman in 1928. Prof. Sarat Chandra Babu, coordinator of the program introduced the theme of this year “Indigenous technologies for Viksit Bharat”. The Central Tribal University of Andhra Pradesh celebrated National science day in its campus starting from 28th Feb to 6th Mar 2023.
The Chief-Guest of the day was Prof. P. C. Joshi, former Vice chancellor of Delhi university and guest of honor was Prof. P.B. Kirti an emeritus scientist from University of Hyderabad who addressed and enlightened the gathering with their knowledge and experience. Prof. P.C. Joshi said that traditional knowledge should be integrated in the Govt health care system and health care workers should be trained in traditional knowledge.
During his presidential remarks Prof. T.V. Kattimani, Hon’ble Vice-Chancellor, CTUAP highlighted that Indian knowledge system should be spread across and should be documented very well and for this CTUAP will initiate talk series on IKS with experts all over India. A floralguide of CTUAP done by students of Biotechnology underthe guidance of HoD Dr. P. Sridevi was inaugurated. In order to mark the occasion, various competitions were conducted for the students to invoke scientific thinking in young minds.
The students also participated in cultural programs as a part of celebrations. All the students who won in the competitions were given science day medals. The faculty members, non-teaching staff students, and of the university participated in the program.
