Nation First” must become the common slogan for all: CM Nara Chandrababu Naidu

    * Unity in the cause of the nation is a remarkable strength.

    * Terrorism is the greatest threat tormenting the world today.

    * Let us all stand in support of the Armed Forces in their fight against terror.

    * The ceasefire between India and Pakistan is a welcome development.

    * Whatever decision the PM and the Centre take for national integrity, the Telugu people will stand firmly behind it.- Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu*

    * CM attends Interfaith Prayer Meet hosted by the Governor at Raj Bhavan

Amaravati, May 10,2025: Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu said that regardless of circumstances, we must protect the nation with the spirit of “Nation First.” He said it is the responsibility of every individual in India to remain united in the face of any challenge. He expressed deep concern that global peace is under siege from terrorism, which is creating instability and economic distress in countries across the world.

The Chief Minister made these remarks at an Interfaith Programme organized by Governor Abdul Nazir at Raj Bhavan on Saturday in the backdrop of rising tensions between India and Pakistan.

     *Massacre in Pahalgam*

Referring to the horrific incident in Pahalgam, the CM said terrorists carried out a brutal massacre, killing 26 innocent people. “This was not just an attack on tourists—it was an assault on national peace and stability,” he said.

He noted that people across communities and faiths have unanimously condemned the attack.
“No one can ease the pain of the families who lost their loved ones. Among the victims were two tourists from our own state. India is waging a serious fight against terrorism. Following the Pahalgam attack, border tensions have persisted for the past five to six days,” he said.

He commended the Indian Armed Forces or their valiant fight under these tense conditions and mentioned that both soldiers and civilians have lost their lives in this battle. One such braveheart was Murali Naik, a soldier from Andhra Pradesh, who sacrificed his life at the age of just 25.

“Murali Naik fought heroically against Pakistan, stating that he would die with the national flag draped over his body—and he did,” said the CM, expressing deep respect for his courage.

    India Will Not Tolerate Terrorism*

“India never intends harm to any other nation. But we will give a strong response to anyone who challenges our sovereignty,” he said.

“Terrorism and extremism that hurt innocent people will never be tolerated. People from every community, region, and religion have come forward and said they stand for the nation. While democracy allows for differences in opinion, there has never been a time when we hesitated to come together for the sake of our state or nation.”

He noted that Andhra Pradesh is a state free from religious strife, and that’s why the Interfaith Prayer Meeting was held with leaders from all religions participating in unity. “We must remember the sacrifice of the soldiers who laid down their lives defending the country and express our solidarity with them,” he said.

The CM highlighted that people living in border states suffered due to continuous shelling over five to six days, and many students had to return from affected areas to their home states.

    Ceasefire a Positive Step*

At 3:30 PM on Saturday, the Army Chiefs of India and Pakistan communicated and decided to observe a ceasefire. India agreed to the proposal after Pakistan initiated the dialogue.“The Indian government has no intention of war but has made it clear that there will be a relentless fight against terrorism and extremism,” said the CM.

Representatives of both countries are set to review the situation on the 12th.“We must pass a resolution expressing our condolences to those who lost their lives in the war,” said CM Chandrababu Naidu.

“No matter what decision the Prime Minister or the Central Government takes to protect the integrity of the country, the Telugu people and the people of Andhra Pradesh will stand solidly in support.”
