    • August 1,2023

Chief Minister Jagan Mohan Reddy reviewed the functioning of the Society for Elimination of Rural Poverty wherein 13 lakh persons were given sources of livelihood in rural areas through the YSR Aasara initiative. This involved a sanction of Rs 19,178.17 crore apart from the Rs 14,129.11 crore under the YSR Cheyutha in three years and another sanction of Rs 4,969.05 crore through the YSR Sunna Vaddi scheme

Underlining the importance of the ongoing land resurvey programme under the Jagananna Swaswatha Bhu Hakku and Bhu Raksha scheme, Chief Minister Y.S. Jagan Mohan Reddy has asked the officials to expedite it.

"Appoint a surveyor in every village secretariat," the Chief Minister said while chairing a high-level review meeting with deputy chief minister (panchayat raj and rural development) Budi Muthyala Naidu and senior officials here on Monday.

Officials informed the CM that the survey involving the drones was completed in about 10,943 villages and that they were issuing the land ownership documents in villages where the survey was completed.

The CM noted that AP was the only state that introduced registration services even at the village secretariats.

The Chief Minister directed the officials to develop Jagananna Colonies by providing them with all amenities and ensuring proper maintenance of sanitation. Lakhs of people would be living in these colonies, he noted and asked the officials to ensure that these colonies maintained cleanliness.

The officials informed the CM that they could complete construction of buildings to accommodate village secretariats by the end of September.

The CM asked them to complete the constructions to accommodate RBKs, digital libraries and village clinics. He laid stress on setting up digital libraries in urban areas too by identifying the places in advance for construction of buildings to accommodate them.

He asked the officials to try and bring down the interest rate on loans being extended to the women. "Apply the benefits of the Jagananna Thoudu scheme to the women involved in the self-employment scheme," he said.

Jagan Mohan Reddy said that by mounting pressure on bankers at the state-level bankers meeting, they could bring down the interest rate to an extent of nine per cent.

The officials informed the CM that the Mahila Marts set up by women self-help groups were running well. So far, 36 such marts were set up. These registered Rs 32.44 crore worth business. Nearly Rs 20.62 lakh worth of business was being registered in these on a daily basis.

The CM stated that under the YSR Cheyutha scheme, the government was providing Rs 18,750 to each beneficiary per annum for a period of four years with a total benefit of Rs 75,000 to each. He underscored the importance of initiating special steps to help the women beneficiaries improve their sources of earnings by utilising such money.

Help the beneficiaries to get the bank loan so as to make them self-employed by setting up their own units. There should be proper monitoring of the scheme, he said and announced the initiation of the Sunnah Vaddi scheme for women on August 10.

Jagan Mohan Reddy reviewed the functioning of the Society for Elimination of Rural Poverty wherein 13 lakh persons were given sources of livelihood in rural areas through the YSR Aasara initiative. This involved a sanction of Rs 19,178.17 crore apart from the Rs 14,129.11 crore under the YSR Cheyutha in three years and another sanction of Rs 4,969.05 crore through the YSR Sunna Vaddi scheme.
