    6th NABARD Crafts Mela, 2024 concluded at Vijayawada

    NABARD Andhra Pradesh regional office had organised sixth NABARD crafts mela at Marris Stella indoor Stadium Vijayawada. The exhibition was conducted from 3rd January to 12 January 2024. Artisans from Andhra Pradesh, Telangana, Odisha, Chhattisgarh, Madhya Pradesh, Jharkhand, Uttar Pradesh, Maharashtra, Gujarat, Tamil Nadu, Assam participated and displayed their unique handloom handicrafts and food products. About 124 artisans participated in 70 stalls at the exhibition. The exhibition was inaugurated by Smt. K Sunita, IAS, special secretary to the department of handloom and textiles, Government of Andhra Pradesh. The exhibition lead to average footfall of more than 600 people on daily basis. 
     Shri M R Gopal , Chief General Manager, Andhra Pradesh regional office, Hyderabad. Smt. M.Jhansi, Rani, PIC APCOB; Shri. Ravindra Babu, General Manager, SLBC, Andhra Pradesh;Dr.RS Reddy, MD, APCOB; Shri Raja Babu, AGM SL BC, Andhra Pradesh; Dr. KVS Prasad General Manager NABARD; senior Government and Bank officers were present for the closing ceremony of the exhibition.
    Shri Gopal emphasised the importance of NABARD supported exhibitions for livelihood of the artisans came from all over India. He also elaborated on the importance of traditional arts and need to support artisans associated with them.
    M Jhansi Rani, PIC APCOB; Shri RS Reddy, MD APCOB; Shri Raja Babu, AGM SLBC also shared their thoughts and expressed their satisfaction about various NABARD’s initiatives. Artisans expressed their satisfaction for response shown by customers.
