Tourism, Culture, and Cinematography Minister Kandula Durgesh signed MoUs for ₹1,217 crores worth of tourism projects during the Regional Investors' Tourism Summit held in Visakhapatnam. The summit, attended by over 150 investors, took place on Monday at Novotel, Beach Road, Visakhapatnam. Investors proposed setting up 825 rooms in Visakhapatnam, Tirupati, Amaravati, and Alluri Sitarama Raju districts, creating 2,567 jobs in the tourism sector. Minister Durgesh emphasized the target of establishing 50,000 rooms in Andhra Pradesh over the next five years as per Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu's vision.
The signed projects include contributions from Atmosphere Hospitality Pvt. Ltd., Suneeyashree Hotels and Resorts Pvt. Ltd., Dolphin Ocean Cruise, Ripples and Company, Everest Enterprises, Blue Bay Infra Projects, Royal Farms Beach Resorts, and Hotel S Park.
Minister Durgesh assured investors of GST, power, and municipal charge rebates, making tourism investments lucrative under the state’s new tourism policy. He promised swift approval processes via single-window clearance and committed to addressing barriers faced by investors.
The summit concluded with the unveiling of the Araku Winter Festival 2025 brochure, scheduled from January 31 to February 2.
