Vijayawada, August 27: Andhra Pradesh aims to boost its ( micro, small, and medium enterprises ) MSME sector significantly by introducing advanced energy
efficient technologies, equipping businesses with Latest innovations for growth. As part of visiting proactive States in energy efficiency field, CEO of EESL (Energy Efficiency Services Limited) a Joint Venture of National Public Sector Undertakings. Ministry of Power GOI , Vishal Kapoor has met Chief Secretary of Andhra Pradesh KS Jawahar Reddy regarding the importance of implementing energy efficiency and Energy Management System to address climate change and sustain the economy. On this occasion, the Chief Secretary has further suggested that the EESL explore the possibility of providing the latest Energy-Efficient technologies for micro, small, and medium enterprises.
This forward-looking approach underscores the government's commitment to fostering a climate of innovation and progress within the MSME landscape. By facilitating access to cutting-edge technologies, the government seeks to empower MSMEs to compete on the Global stage while contributing significantly to the state’s economic resurgence. He mentioned that Chief Minister Y.S. Jagan Mohan Reddy holds a strong commitment to advancing the MSMEs in the state and reinforcing their capabilities through the introduction of cutting-edge their technologies. A testament to this commitment is the ‘Restart Model’ program, a flagship initiative launched by the Andhra Pradesh government to fortify the MSMEs.. As part of this initiative, the government is giving unwavering support to MSMES, even during challenging times, such as Covid Critical Period,
. Apart from this the energy department’s special Action Plan in providing reliable and quality power supply to Industries is quite successful and helped MSMEs to improve their Products. CS said The CEO EESL explained to CS of AP that as a cornerstone of India’s economy, the MSME sector grapples with diverse challenges from financial constraints to constrained market access. Embracing innovative technologies can help these enterprises overcome these obstacles, fostering heightened competitiveness, productivity, and growth, ultimately bolstering India’s GDP and industrial output. He extolled Andhra Pradesh’s proactive stance in the realm of energy efficiency and Promotion of Renewable Energy Sources Vishal Kapoor underlined EESL’s unyielding commitment to supporting all Key States .highlighting the organization’s role as a vanguard energy service provider, specializing in efficiency, renewable energy, electric mobility, and decentralized solar power generation. EESL, in collaboration with the Ministry of MSME, Government of India, United Nations Industrial Development Organization (UNIDO), and the Global Environmental Facility (GEF), has embarked on a Nationwide initiative titled ‘Promoting Market Transformation for Energy Efficiency in Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises (MSME)’. This ambitious project seeks to accelerate the adoption of energy-efficient technologies across the MSME sector, a segment responsible for a significant portion of India’s GDP and industrial output. The initiative encompasses a comprehensive suite of benefits, including access to standardized package offers (SPOs) for 35 energy-efficient technologies across 12 MSME clusters.
This visionary project is poised to yield substantial energy savings, cost reductions, enhanced productivity and product quality, and commendable environmental gains for MSMEs. Furthermore, the initiative aligns harmoniously with the nation’s ambitious target to slash emissions intensity by 45% from 2005 levels by the year 2030. Energy-efficient technologies hold significant promise for MSME sector, a key contributor to the states industrial landscape. These innovations offer substantial benefits by reducing operational costs and minimizing environmental impact. Technologies like LED lighting, variable frequency drives, and energy-efficient HVAC systems enable MSMEs to cut energy usage, bolster profits, and contribute to sustainability. Energy management systems and smart sensors further optimize energy consumption. As Andhra Pradesh takes the lead in fostering energy-efficient innovations, the trajectory of its MSME sector is poised for a monumental shift, underlining the state’s commitment to sustainable industrial development and economic prosperity.
The Chief Secretary who has thanked GOI for facilitating entering into memorandum of agreement(MOA) with EESL with the coordination of bureau of Energy Efficiency(BEE) for initiating Gigantic Energy Efficiency Project in Jagananna Colonies, advised EESL to coordinate with. Secretary, Industries and commerce Yuvaraj who has Served in GOI in Key Position to deal with major Projects and Commissioner Praveen Kumar and preparing a Road Map for implementing Energy Efficiency in cost effective basis and time bound manner in MSMEs. Ultimately the GoAP is aiming for making MSMEs No.1 in the country for achieving economically viable, chief Secretary said.
