AMARAVATI:Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu said that the state government introduced AP Excise Suraksha App to curb spurious liquor menace. He said the App will help to trace the manufacturing and selling details of the liquor bottle.
Addressing media persons at his camp office today, the Chief Minister said that the shop owner should scan the bottle before selling the bottle to consumer. The consumer also can scan the bottle to know whether it is real one or spurious liquor. He said the App will help to curb the belt shops menace also as the shop will be geo tagged.
The Chief Minister said that in Mulakalacheruvu spurious liquor case 16 persons were arrested out of total 23 accused including main accused Janardhan. He said that he suspended one TDP leader also immediately for his alleged role in the issue. He made it clear that the government will act tough on the accused irrespective of their political affiliations and there is no question of shielding any one who tried to escape in political guise.
The Chief Minister said that the spurious liquor has said to be roots in Africa and some people are conspiring to implement the same pattern in Andhra Pradesh in political guise. He said that TDP leaders are first one to highlight the spurious liquor case in Mulakalacheruvu.
The Chief Minister said that a special SIT was formed with GVG Ashok Kumar, Rahul Dev Sharma, K Chakravathi, Mallika Garg and one expert from Excise department for detailed investigation of the case and total revamping of the system.
The Chief Minister expressed surprise over some parties demanding CBI inquiry into spurious liquor case to escape from the case. He said during the previous government own brands were promoted and legalised the entire system by owning shops, transport and distilleries forcefully. He said the ganja cultivation was made as a commercial crop and drug menace increased during 2019-24. He said those who are resorting to crimes in the guise of politics now resorting to false campaign on spurious liquor blaming the government. He said action will be taken on those who resort to false campaign. He said the previous government failed to react even 27 people died in Jangareddygudem and now blaming the state government with false campaign.
At the same time the Chief Minister also strictly warned Excise department staff and officials to act as per law or else they have to face action for their wrong doings
