The high court had decided that Rani Kamaladevi owns Daspalla lands in various survey numbers in Waltair, and the Supreme Court confirmed the HC decision. The Andhra Pradesh High Court on Wednesday asked the Visakhapatnam District Collector to take efforts to delete the lands from 22A as per the memo issued on September 27, 2022, and deliver them over to Rani Kamaladevi in the Daspalla lands matter.
The court ordered that its directive be carried out within 15 days. The high court also ordered the District Collector to appear before it on January 23 and explain why the directive was not followed. In 2009, the HC directed the then-District Collector to carry out its order. It stated that failure to comply with its order, even after 12 years, amounts to contempt of court.
