AMARAVATI: Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu said that the overall economic growth rate of Andhra Pradesh is showing a strong upward trend outperforming the national average in the second quarter of 2025-26 financial year. The AP GVA growth rate increased to 11.30 per cent against 10.26 per cent in the second quarter last year. Likewise the GSDP growth rate increased to 11.28 per cent against 10.17 per cent at the same period last year. The All India GDP growth rate stands at 8.7 per cent in the second quarter of 2025-26.
The Chief Minister gave power point presentation on state growth rate at secretariat today. Speaking on the occasion, he said the NDA government is able to upbring the state from crippled economy stage to remarkable growth rate in all sectors. He said several measures have been taken to achieve good growth rate and instill confidence among investors which resulting in attracting investments to a tune of Rs 20 lakh crore.
The Chief Minister said the half year growth rate during 2025-26 indicates this marking the GDP and GSDP of Andhra Pradesh at 12.02 per cent while national average stands at 9.8 per cent during 2024-25. He said the average GSDP growth percentage of AP during 2014-19 registered a highest of 13.49 per cent. Meanwhile the GSDP during previous government’s regime from 2019-24 stands at 10.32 per cent. If the growth rate of 13.5 per cent continued without any break the state could have achieved an additional revenue of Rs 76,195 crore.
Coming to per capita income the average per capita income in AP stands at Rs 2,66,240 crore registering 11.89 per cent growth rate, while the national average growth rate stands at 8.7 per cent. If the growth rate doubles from 7.5 per cent to 15 per cent GSDP and per capita income would witness four fold increase by 4.7 times.
The Chief Minister said Industry sector witnessed growth of 12.20 per cent in Q 2 of 2025-26 while all India growth rate stands at 8.5 percent. The mining and quarrying sector has registered highest of 18.43 per cent growth, construction sector 11.81 per cent manufacturing sector 11.66 percent and electricity 11.96 per cent. The power generation registered growth of 19.12 per cent from 22,529 MUs to 26,837 MUs keeping in view the increasing demand of power consumption which showed moderate rise of 4.17 per cent. He said the agricultural sector also witnessed increase in growth rate which stands at 11.43 per cent while national average registered growth of 1.8 per cent. The agriculture and allied sector performance come together stands at 10.70 per cent. The Fishing and aquaculture sector registered significant growth of 26.27 per cent during Q 2 of 2025-26. The GVA from livestock and horticulture sectors registered growth of 4.18 per cent and 4.35 per cent. The service sector marked growth rate of 11.30 per cent while the national average stands at 10.6 per cent growth rate. Coming to the Real Estate, ownership and dwellings and professional services registered growth rate of 14.31 per cent. The cargo handling from several ports increased and registered growth rate of 14.90 per cent. Like wise the air traffic increased by 9.42 per cent from 13.69 lakh to 14.98 lakh. The AP GVA growth rate which stands at 7.46 per cent in second quarter of 2024-The GSDP growh rate rose from 7.03 per cent to 10.70 per cent at the same period while all India GDP growth rate during Q2 increased to 8.2 per cent.
The Chief Minister said the AP GVA growth rate accelerated from 9.85 per cent in first half year in 2024-25 to 11.05 per cent in H1 of 2025-26. AP GSDP growth rate rose from 9.89 per cent to 10.91 per cent over the same period. While All India GDP growth rate during H1 of 2025-26 decreased from 9.0 per cent to 8.8 per cent.
He said a target was set to achieve 65.64 per cent growth in Agriculture sector, 55.10 per cent in Industry sector, 55.34 per cent in Service sector. As per the Swarna Andhra vision 2047, GSDP target for2025-26 is 18.66 lakh crore with a growth rate of 17.11 per cent.
