Andhra Pradesh Commits to Sustainable Development with Mission LiFE

Vijayawada, 14th July 2024: Hon’ble Chief Minister Sri N. Chandrababu Naidu has officially released BEE’s Mission LiFE poster in Andhra Pradesh, aligning the State with Hon'ble Prime Minister Sri. Narendra Modi’s vision for sustainable development and pledged full support to this prestigious initiative, aiming to promote sustainable living practices, stimulate economic growth, and also helps to ensure a reliable and high-quality electricity supply for all consumers.
The Chief Minister, releasing a poster prepared by the Media Adviser Wing of Southern States (UTs), BEE, MOP, GOI, emphasized the government's dedication to eco-friendly practices like waste reduction, water & energy conservation, and renewable energy use. He lauded Prime Minister Sri Narendra Modi for spearheading an India-led global mass movement through' Mission LIFE 'to promote environmental protection, highlighting its historic importance for India and the world. He also commanded Bureau of Energy Efficiency (BEE) for promoting these efforts India wide.
The Media Adviser (Southern States & UTs) Bureau of Energy Efficiency (BEE), Ministry of Power, GOI, informed the Chief Minister about the Mission LiFE's activities and its goal to foster environmental responsibility, aiming to mitigate degradation and enhance public
health and quality of life. One of the cornerstone objectives of Mission LiFE is to ensure that every household and industry has access to reliable and high-quality electricity and better environment.
Under Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu's leadership, Andhra Pradesh is set for economic growth. Mission LiFE initiatives aim to create green jobs in renewable energy, waste management, and sustainable agriculture, boosting GDP. Promoting sustainable tourism and organic farming is expected to attract investments and strengthen economic resilience. The Mission LiFE aims to transform lifestyle choices, encouraging sustainable practices to reduce the carbon footprint, conserve natural resources, and improve quality of life.
Mission LiFE will encourages households, industries, and commercial establishments to adopt energy-efficient appliances and practices, leading to substantial reductions in electricity consumption and operational cost. "Mission LiFE is not just a program; it is a movement towards a greener, healthier, and more prosperous future. By embracing sustainable lifestyles and renewable energy solutions, the State can create a legacy of environmental stewardship for generations to come."
Spl. CS Energy dept. K. Vijayanand informed that that Under Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu’s visionary leadership, Andhra Pradesh stands at the forefront of creating a cleaner and greener energy mix. He said the SECM, SDA of AP in Co. Ordination with key departments has fully focused on better implementation of Mission LiFE and energy efficiency activities.
The Media Adviser (Southern States & UTs) Bureau of Energy Efficiency (BEE), Ministry of Power, GOI, A. Chandra Sekhara Reddy who is also Nodal officer for Mission Life in Southern States said that Andhra Pradesh which is Considered to be a Pioneering State in the Country in the area of Energy Efficiency, have got Global recognition in 2017 itself by achieving World Bank top Ranking.
To promote a more sustainable lifestyle, the public is encouraged to use LED lights, prefer public transport, turn off vehicle engines at red lights and railway crossings, use Electric bicycles for short commutes, choose CNG or electric vehicles, install solar water heaters or cookers, set air conditioners to 24 degrees, keep electronic devices in energy-saving mode, use cloth bags instead of plastic, participate in clean-up drives, turn off running taps, and opt for recycled plastic. . All the above initiatives will have major impact on economic development & addressing climate change by reducing greenhouse gas emissions
