Chief Minister YS Jagan Mohan Reddy said the state has taken up the resurvey of lands after a century and in an unprecedented manner. No other state has taken up such a survey so far, he said, adding that this ws important not only to the present generation but also future generations.

Government is giving top priority to the YSR-Jagananna Saswatha Bhu Hakku and Bhu Raksha scheme by conducting a large-scale land survey and instructed officials to complete the mega survey programme by May 20.

At a review meeting on the survey of lands held at the camp office here on Friday, the chief minister told the officials to acquire the necessary survey paraphernalia at the earliest. He asked officials to install the survey stones at the completion of the survey process and procure rovers to complete the task without delay.

The CM enquired with the officials about the progress of survey taken up in 2000 villages in the first phase by the revenue department. The officials told him that the distribution of the documents was in full swing. “The survey work should be completed by May 20 in all respects including the laying of survey stones,” he said.

The chief minister suggested that rovers be used wherever necessary to complete the work on time. He said survey equipment like the rovers should be arranged in all village secretariats to ensure that the work of surveyors would be smooth. Officials must procure all available technical equipment at the earliest.

“The government is aiming at completing it using modern technology and hand over the documents to the land owners in such a way that no one can tamper them with,” the CM said.

Officials informed him 31 lakh survey stones are ready to be fixed once the survey is completed and arrangements are in place to supply 50,000 stones a day. The CM told them to make preparations in advance to procure the required quantity of stones needed for the next phase of survey.

Officials of the municipal department said the process of data analysis was ongoing. Panchayat Raj officials told the CM they would complete the survey in 300 villages by end of the third week of April and in all villages by December end.

Mines and geology minister Peddireddy Ramachandra Reddy, principal adviser to chief minister Ajay Kallam, special chief secretaries Sai Prasad, Sri Lakshmi, Rajat Bhargava, B Rajasekhar, principal secretary (Panchayat Raj and rural development) GK Dwivedi, senior IAS officers Siddharth Jain, Md.
