Hyderabad: Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu stated that the vision he implemented three decades ago is  yielding results now. He emphasized that earlier reforms in IT, technology and power sectors are now delivering significant benefits.
The Chief Minister attended the EO South Asia Learning Summit 2026 – Transforming AI Conference held at  Indian School of Business (ISB), Hyderabad as chief guest today. Speaking on “The Future of Everything”, the Chief Minister shared his views on the future of the knowledge economy.
He explained that recognizing the importance of a knowledge-driven economy early led to promoting technology and embracing IT. With the goal of transforming the then undivided Andhra Pradesh from an agriculture-based state into an industrial state, economic reforms were introduced.
Due to the encouragement given to IT, companies like Microsoft chose Hyderabad over cities like Bengaluru and Chennai. Prestigious projects such as ISB and Genome Valley were established and during COVID-19, Genome Valley supplied vaccines to the world.
The Chief Minister said the government is now focusing on future technologies like quantum computing, artificial intelligence, and drones to ensure efficient governance.
He highlighted that sectors such as green hydrogen and green ammonia will dominate the energy landscape, ensuring sustainable power generation and avoiding future electricity tariff hikes.
Due to global conflicts, LPG shortages have arisen, making piped natural gas supply crucial.
The Chief Minister said that Andhra Pradesh will lead South India in green energy production. He said using AI waiting times for darshan at Tirumala has been reduced. Advanced labs are monitoring ingredients used in temple prasadam, eliminating the possibility of adulteration.
The government is also developing digital health records and will soon introduce AI doctor services and AI agronomist services for farmers.
The Chief Minister said Amaravati is being developed as a smart, blue-green capital city with advanced technology integration. Alongside the capital, the Polavaram Project is being executed as a prestigious initiative, designed to withstand floods of up to 50 lakh cusecs.
He stated that once completed, the project will benefit other states as well. A quantum computer will soon become operational in Amaravati.
Companies like Google and Reliance are setting up data centers in Visakhapatnam.
A long-term vision, “Swarna Andhra 2047”, has been designed to drive development. Plans are in place to grow agriculture, services, and industrial sectors, along with boosting exports in horticulture and aquaculture.
He emphasized the need for young entrepreneurs in the food processing sector and invited them to seize the opportunity.
The Chief Minister said the state aims for a sustained 15 percent growth rate to become one of the leading economies in the country.
The Chief Minister highlighted that the PPP (Public-Private Partnership) model has been a success, citing the Jegurupadu power project as an example, which has now returned to government ownership after 30 years.
He noted that similar models have succeeded in projects like the Golden Quadrilateral highways and airports across India.Economic reforms have increased wealth, but he stressed the importance of giving back to society.
He mentioned that Naandi Foundation was established to market Araku coffee grown by tribal communities and now industrialist Anand Mahindra is promoting it globally.
He  warned that India may face an aging population issue post-2047 and stressed the need for a population management policy, especially to improve fertility rate in South India.
The Chief Minister stated that Andhra Pradesh is now leading in attracting investments.
At the summit, organizers presented a video showcasing how Hyderabad was transformed into a global IT hub under Chandrababu Naidu’s leadership.
The video highlighted developments such as HITEC City, Genome Valley, Financial district and the entry of companies like Microsoft.
