Through a comprehensive suite of Demand Side Management (DSM) measures, the utility achieved extraordinary milestones, including a colossal total energy savings of 5062.48 Million Units (MU), a remarkable cost savings of 3265.47 Crore, and a commendable demand reduction of 101.222 Mega Watts (MW).These accomplishments underscore the utility's dedication to operational excellence and sustainable energy practices.

During a teleconference with EESL CEO Vishal Kapoor as part of Energy Conservation Week, EPDCL CMD Prudhvi Tej highlighted the energy efficiency achievements of EPDCL. These initiatives not only showcase environmental stewardship but also emphasize the economic benefits of renewable energy adoption.

APEPDCL's commitment to providing 24x7 power supply has yielded a commendable 10% increase in per capita consumption across all sectors. The strategic procurement of power through renewable sources has not only bolstered internal efficiency but has also enabled extending cost-effective tariffs to consumers, resulting in an impressive 8.7% increase in consumer growth.

Fiscal Year 2023-24: A Story of Growth

A meticulous analysis of the year-wise data unveils consistent growth in category-wise sales, with an impressive 8.7% increase in the consumer base. APEPDCL has effectively managed technical and commercial losses, showcasing a reduction from 6.68% in 2018-19 to an impressive 5.14% up to September 2023.

In FY 2023-24, up to October 2023, APEPDCL witnessed a robust surge in Max Demand, reaching an impressive 4856 MW. This remarkable achievement signifies an '11.14%' growth in demand, showcasing the organization's ability to meet the escalating energy needs of the region.

The organization actively promotes energy efficiency on a large scale, prioritizing public welfare and consumer needs as directed by the Chief Minister Y.S. Jagan Mohan Reddy, Minister for Energy Peddyreddy Ram Chandrareddy, and SPL.CS. Energy, K. Vijayanand, he said.

EESL CEO Vishal Kapoor appreciated the significant achievements of APEPDCL in implementing energy efficiency measures. He also assured that EESL would fully support APEPDCL to become a front runner in the field of energy efficiency. The implementation of energy efficiency measures is expected to achieve more energy and economic savings, along with providing better services to consumers.

APEPDCL officials outlined the implementation of key Strategic Energy Efficiency Programs, including Demand Side Management (DSM) based initiatives like DELP, DEFP, EETL, AgDSM, Energy Efficient Pump Sets Project, and EV Charging Stations which helped to save 5062.48 Million Units (MU) of energy . Addressing consumer grievances, the organization boasts a robust redressal mechanism handling over 3,87,000 complaints, achieving a 99% resolution rate, showcasing its commitment to customer satisfaction. APEPDCL remains at the forefront of energy efficiency exploration, engaging in pilot projects, collaborations with entities like EESL and BEE, and ongoing studies on energy-efficient equipment implementation in commercial and industrial sectors.
