TDP Prioritizes Weaker Sections in MLC Selections
The Telugu Desam Party (TDP) has allocated all three of its announced MLC seats to candidates from weaker sections. Staying true to its long-standing commitment to uplifting backward communities, the party has once again ensured that these positions go to leaders from BC and SC communities.
Out of the five available MLC seats, two were given to alliance partners Jana Sena and BJP, while the remaining three were assigned to TDP candidates. The party leadership decided to allocate two seats to BC leaders and one to an SC representative, ensuring a fair distribution across different social groups.
To maintain regional balance, candidates were selected from three different areas. BT Nayudu, a BC leader from Kurnool district in Rayalaseema, has been given another opportunity to serve as an MLC. Beeda Ravichandra, a long-time loyalist of the party, has also been chosen for an MLC position.
In a move to encourage youth leadership and promote women's representation, the party has nominated Kavali Greeshma, daughter of former Speaker Pratibha Bharati, from the SC community in Srikakulam. Her selection reflects TDP’s commitment to empowering young and dynamic leaders from marginalized sections.
By choosing all three MLC candidates from BC and SC communities, TDP has once again demonstrated its dedication to the upliftment and representation of weaker sections in the political landscape.
