Encouraging meritorious students is commendable: Minister Atchannaidu
Vijayawada, August 16: State Agriculture Minister Kinjarapu Atchannaidu hailed freedom fighter Sardar Gouthu Latchanna, who fought tirelessly throughout his life for the rights of the downtrodden and weaker sections. He was speaking at the state-level birth anniversary celebrations of Sardar Gouthu Latchanna at Tummalapalli Kalakshetra in Vijayawada. The Minister said that apart from fighting for the freedom of the country as a freedom fighter, the struggles of Goutu Lacchanna for the rights and welfare of the downtrodden, weaker sections, BCs, farmers and labourers after independence are memorable. As a beloved son of Uttarandhra, I am proud of his service not only to the region but also to the state and the country. He said that the aspirations of Lacchanna, who fought throughout his life for the solution of people's problems, social justice and the rights of the downtrodden, are the guiding light of today's generation.
Atchannaidu said that the alliance government led by Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu is working in line with the aspirations of the people to provide a suitable place to the BCs socially, economically and politically. He said that education is very important for BCs to grow in all fields and if talented students are encouraged, they will reach greater heights. On the occasion, the Anagani Satya Prasad Charitable Trust distributed cash awards of Rs 25 lakh. Minister Atchannaidu said that it is commendable to give cash awards of Rs 25 lakh. Recognizing the talent and encouraging the students means assuring their future. He wished for the students to take advantage of this opportunity and rise to higher positions and bring good name to the family, society and the state. Later, the Minister gave away prizes to 125 meritorious students.
Our true tribute to Sardar Goutu Lacchanna, who dedicated his life for the poor and downtrodden, is to continue his fighting spirit. All of us have a responsibility to pass on his aspirations to the future generations, "he said.
