AMARAVARAVATI: Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu is scheduled to credit Rs 15000 each to 2.90 lakh Autorickshaw and cab drivers under Auto Drivers Sevala scheme in a programme to be held in Vijayawada at 11 a.m tomorrow.
The state government allotted Rs 436 crore towards the Auto Drivers Sevala scheme. While the previous government distributed Rs 10,000 each to 2,61,516 auto drivers by spending Rs 261. 51 crore the NDA government spending Rs 436 crore to benefit 2.90 lakh auto drivers. The beneficiaries include 2,25,621 autorickshaw drivers, 38,576 passenger vehicle drivers and 38,576 moto cab drivers and 6,400 maxi cab drivers. Visakhapatnam tops with highest beneficiaries of 22,955 auto drivers.
The state government implementing the scheme to benefit auto drivers and cab drivers. In addition the state government also reduced the green tax of Rs 20,000 imposed by previous government to Rs 3000. The state government set up a special grievance handling system to solve the grievances of auto drivers in receiving the amount.
Deputy Chief Minister Pawan Kalyan, Minister Nara Lokesh and BJP state president PVN Madhav will also attend the programme.
