CM announce on release of Rs 45 cr pending honorarium to Imams and Mouzans
Amaravati: Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu said that Haj House will be constructed in Amaravati and announced that Rs 45 crore pending honorarium payments to Imams and Mouzans will be released tonight itself.
The Chief Minister participated in the Iftar dinner hosted by the government in Vijayawada today. On the occasion, he took part in the prayers and extended Ramzan greetings to the Muslim community.
Later addressing the gathering the Chief Minister stated that within 21 months of the coalition government coming to power, several welfare schemes have been implemented for the Muslim community. He said said the incomplete Haj House in Kadapa will soon be made operational.He highlighted several welfare initiatives undertaken by the government including 4.38 lakh Muslims are receiving benefits under NTR Bharosa, 4.5 lakh Muslim students are receiving support under the Thalliki Vandanam scheme and
Post-matric scholarships worth Rs 264 crore have been released for 19,215 beneficiaries. Honorariums of Rs 5,000 for Imams and Rs 10,000 for Mouzans are being provided, amounting to Rs 180 crore. An additional Rs 45 crore in arrears will be released tonight.
The Chief Minister stated that eligible Imams are being appointed as government Khazis. The validity of marriage licenses has been extended from three years to ten years. Arrangements are being made for 347 pilgrims to undertake the Haj pilgrimage from the Vijayawada embarcation point.
Financial assistance of Rs 193 crore has been provided to 33,275 beneficiaries. The government is also focusing on skill development for youth to improve employment opportunities.
He noted that the previous government had pushed the Wakf Board into controversies through GO 47, which has now been revoked. The Wakf Board has been reorganized, and 1,500 Wakf properties have been surveyed. The coalition government is committed to protecting Wakf properties and ensuring Muslim welfare.
The Noor Basha Federation has been converted into the Dudekula Muslim Finance Corporation, with Rs 100 crore allocated. While Rs 5,434 crore was allocated for minorities in the previous budget, this year the allocation has been increased to Rs 6,090 crore.
