*CM to unveil statue of Potti Sriramulu in Amaravati tomorrow *
*CM to attend Iftar dinner in Vijayawada tomorrow evening *
Amaravati: Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu will unveil statue of Amarajeevi Potti Sriramulu in Amaravati tomorrow.
As per schedule the Chief Minister will unveil the 58-ft bronze statue of Amarajeevi Potti Sriramulu at Shakhamuru Park in Amaravati at 11.15 a.m tomorrow on the occasion of 125th birth anniversary of Potti Sriramulu. The first phase of this project—undertaken at an estimated cost of Rs 150 crore has been completed on 6.80 acres of land.
The Potti Sriramulu Memorial Trust completed the construction of the 58-ft statue in a record time of just six months. A total of 26 tonnes of bronze and 42 tonnes of iron structure were used for the statue. In the second phase, a museum, photo gallery, auditorium and skill development center will be constructed at the site.
This memorial complex will be developed to reflect the sacrifice of Sriramulu, who fought for 58 days to achieve a separate state for Telugu people.
Later in the evening at 5:40 PM, the Chief Minister will reach Vijayawada and participate in the Iftar dinner organized by the government in honour of the Muslim community on the occasion of the holy month of Ramzan and will extend greetings to the Muslim brethern.
