Vijayawada: Chief Minister Y.S. Jagan Mohan Reddy to relesed deposit Rs 161.86 crore as fourth instalment to benefit 23,458 fishermen families of Dr B.R. Ambedkar Konaseema and Kakinada districts who lost their livelihoods due to the pipeline works of ONGC at the rate of Rs 11,500 per month each with a total of Rs 69,000 for six months.
Under YSR Matsyakara Bharosa, financial aid of Rs 10,000 per month for marine fishing ban period (April 15 to June 14) to be given to eligible fishermen families.
To avoid distress migration and to promote better livelihood of coastal fishermen, the state government has taken up construction of 10 fishing harbours and six fish landing centres of world class standards at a cost of Rs 3,793 crore.
