    CM YS Jagan Directed officials to fill 3,295 posts all universities and IIITs across AP by November 15

     Chief Minister Y.S. Jagan Mohan Reddy has given the green signal for a massive recruitment drive in universities and IIITs across AP.

    He asked officials to fill 3,295 posts and complete the recruitment process by November 15 through the state PSC. The examination would be held online.

    "Full-time regular staff would be appointed in all universities across the state and in addition to the filling of posts of 2,635 assistant professors, associate professors and professors in universities, 660 vacant posts would be filled in IIITs.

    At a review meeting here on Thursday, the Chief Minister authorised the education department to fill these posts soone

    The government has already filled 51,000 vacancies in the Medical and Health department.

    Jagan Mohan Reddy said universities would put up best performance if they are equipped with regular teaching staff. "We should fill up the existing vacancies in the universities on a regular basis," he said.

    The Chief Minister said the selection process must be done purely on the merit basis to ensure quality education for  students.

    "We have completed the appointment of 1.30 lakh staff members in village and ward secretariats in a flawless manner. The appointment of faculty in universities and IIITs should also be expedited in the same manner," he said.

    Officials proposed that those already working on contract basis should be given a maximum of 10 weightage marks at the rate of one mark per year.

    They told the CM that the notification would be issued by the APPSC on August 23 for filling up the posts and online examination could be conducted in the third and fourth weeks of September.

    The results would be declared on October 10 and the final list after interviews would be released by November 15.

    Education minister Botsa Satyanarayana, principal secretaries J. Syamala Rao (higher education) and Chiranjeevi Choudary (finance-HR), college education commissioner P. Bhaskar, higher education council chairman K. Hemachandra Reddy, APPSC secretary Pradip Kumar were among the senior officials present
