Chief Minister Y.S. Jagan Mohan Reddy would connect with the public directly when he launched the ambitious Jaganannaku Chebudam scheme on May 9. This is an upgraded version of the Spandana programme.

"The name of the programme itself speaks a lot. The entire government machinery would ensure a qualitative service delivery. Addressing the individual and household grievances should be the priority of the officials participating in the programme," said the Chief Minister at a high-level review programme here on Friday.

District collectors and SPs attended the meeting via video mode. Jagan Mohan Reddy said the ultimate aim of the Jaganannaku Chebudam is to solve the problems of the people within deadlines, and to their satisfaction. The official machinery should ensure that the complainants are fully satisfied, he stressed.

The government allots `3 crore in funds to each collector to undertake this programme and resolve people’s issues.

"The project monitoring units at the mandal, district, division and CMO levels should keep track of the messages, suggestions, grievances and the feedback received through the helpline 1902, besides conveying the messages of the Chief Minister to the people. The Jaganannaku Chebudam links the people directly with the CMO," the CM said.

He said that while the volunteers at village and ward secretariats visit the people door-to-door and explain the importance of the helpline number before May 9, assigned senior IAS officers would visit the districts once in every 15 days and monitor the functioning of the Jaganannaku Chebudam along with district collectors.

These reviews would be monitored every fortnight at the CMO, DGP and chief secretary levels.

Pointing out that the efficiency of the government depends largely on the efficiency of the bureaucracy, the CM said the official machinery should bring a good name to the government by efficiently implementing the programme.

Along with the monitoring committees, special officers would be appointed to ensure that the grievances are efficiently addressed and solved.

"There should be strict monitoring of the functioning of the village and ward secretariats, RBKS and Village Clinics besides supervising the construction of the Jagananna housing colonies."

Jagan Mohan Reddy directed the district collectors to pay special attention to the Jagananna Housing Colonies that consist of more than 1000 houses. The government is spending around ` 15,810crore on housing alone the present fiscal.

The Chief Minister directed them to make preparations for distribution of house pattas to 48,000 poor people in the NTR and Guntur districts in the second week of May. Every Saturday should be treated as Housing Day while officials should also visit the layouts at least twice a month.

Asking the district collectors to own the Jagananna Saswatha Bhu Hakku Bhu Raksha programme, the CM told them to expedite the distribution of land documents to the owners in the 2,000 villages in the first phase, which is nearing completion, and begin the work for the second phase survey in 2,000 villages from May 25.

Under this programme, resurvey of lands would be taken up in 17,464 revenue villages across the state.

Extending the CM’s review to the Nadu-Nedu in schools, Jagan Mohan Reddy asked them to complete digitalisation in 15, 715 government schools before June 12 by fixing the Interactive Flat Panels, thereby ending the first phase, while the work should be taken up in 16,461 and 13,000 schools in the second and third phases respectively
