     In the aftermath of the resounding success at the recent G20 Summit held on July 22, Vishal Kapoor, the Chief Executive Officer of Energy Efficiency Services Limited (EESL), has called upon senior officials of the organization from all States to embark on a fervent mission to accelerate India’s energy efficiency ( E. E) movement. He exhorted them to place EESL at the forefront of the global stage, striving to fulfill the government’s vision of making India a paragon of energy efficiency in all sectors.

    The theme “One Earth, One Family, One Future,” chosen by India at the G20 Summit, resonates deeply with Kapoor’s appeal. He invoked Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s vision and urged officials to march forward with firm dedication to achieve the country’s energy efficiency objectives. During the momentous G20 Summit, EESL has achieved remarkable milestones and signed Memorandums of Understanding (MoUs) worth a staggering Rs 700 crore.

    These accomplishments have cemented EESL’s position in the National and International Energy Efficiency business arena, garnering accolades and admiration from across the Globe. According to Animesh Mishra…CGM..corporate Communications .EESL, among the 15 crucial MoUs exchanged during the 14th Clean Energy Ministerial (CEM) meeting,

    A standout alliance was formed with the Andhra Pradesh State Housing Company Limited (APSHCL). Under this partnership, EESL will provide energy-efficient appliances to APSHCLfor facilitating to beneficiaries residing in Jagananna Colonies as part of the esteemed GOI Program of PMAY and NavaratnaluPedalandarikiIllu (NPI) scheme of AP One of the other major MoUs is that EESL’s strategic partnership with Loughborough University, UK, under the Modern Energy Cooking Service (MECS) program, aims to drive large-scale promotion and deployment of electric cooking in India.

    Speaking of these collaborations, Vishal Kapoor who has reviewed the impact of Proposed MOUs with the State’s Cluster heads, expressed EESL’s commitment to drive E.E and sustainability across various sectors. He highlighted that the MoUs exchanged during the Clean Energy Ministerial mark a significant stride towards fulfilling India’s ambitious energy goals. By pooling resources and expertise with experts, EESL is poised to accelerate India’s transition towards clean energy solutions, addressing the challenges while seizing the opportunities associated with energy efficiency. Vishal Kapoor said that EESL, a joint venture of PSUs under the Ministry of Power, has been at the forefront of India’s mission towards sustainable development through energy savings and efficiency.

    He elaborated on EESL’s significant contributions, including avoidance of peak demand of 12 Giga watts (GW,)resulting in savings of a whopping Rs96000 crores for the Entire Country. Each year, EESL’s interventions is likely to lead to savings of 20000 crore Indian rupees. The company’s pioneering work in lighting revolutionized India’s energy landscape, introducing LED bulbs that save up to 90% electricity compared to traditional tungsten bulbs. EESL distributed millions of LED bulbs, making them affordable household goods. Additionally, EESL’s efforts in replacing conventional streetlights with LED lamps brought tremendous savings to local bodies.

    Having ventured into smart metering and electric mobility, EESL continues to explore new frontiers in energy efficiency. Kapoor emphasized that cooling is the next destination, with a focus on achieving the same level of comfort with lesser energy consumption.The said Cooling Latest Technology will be more Useful to Several States like Maharashtra,Rajasthan Andhra Pradesh, Telangana, Tamilnadu etc..

    As EESL strives to develop an exclusive market for energy-efficient products and approaches various state governments, Kapoor reiterated that collaboration is vital in the fight against climate change. He lauded the Sustained efforts of G20 and the Clean Energy Ministerial and Govt of India several Key Ministries like Ministry of Power, Ministry of Environment & Climate Change and BEE etc in Particular for fostering global cooperation to combat climate challenges.
