Efforts on to uplift poor and achieve social equality:CM

Amaravati: Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu stated that the coalition government is committed to uplift poor and making efforts to achieve social equality. He said the government is moving forward to ensure social empowerment by reducing economic disparities and providing representation to weaker sections in proportion to their population.
Speaking in the Legislative Assembly on budget  allocations to welfare departments, the Chief Minister said that despite financial constraints, the NDA government has made the “Super Six” a grand success. He said allocations for SCs, STs, BCs and Minorities have been increased compared to the past.
The Chief Minister said focusing on future generations well being, strengthened Anganwadi centres and primary schools. Special emphasis is being placed on residential schools to provide quality education. Efforts are being made to ensure better health along with proper nutrition.
The Chief Minister said the previous government reduced BC reservations from 34 percent to 24 percent. We have constituted a one-man committee to restore reservations back to 34 percent. The government is making all efforts to increase and implement these reservations before local body elections. A Cabinet Sub-Committee has been formed to enact a BC Protection Act. Similarly, some BC groups are seeking inclusion in SC and ST categories. The related Bills have already been sent to the Centre.
The Chief Minister said that as a Chief Minister he introduced SC categorization during 1996–97. Subsequent governments failed to protect it. Now, we have once again implemented categorisation to ensure social justice within SC communities. The earlier rulers also failed to protect GO No. 3 introduced for tribal welfare, and the Supreme Court struck it down. GO No. 3 must be implementable and acceptable to all.  A decision will be taken soon. We are ensuring protection for minorities and providing honorariums to Mouzans and Imams. We are supporting girl children in all ways.Soon, we will introduce a Family Benefit Card by taking the family as a unit. Through Sanjeevani, financial relief will be provided to the poor, reducing their hardships.  This  government is committed for welfare of weaker section, the Chief Minister asserted.
