Govt to organize week long programme to bring awareness among farmers
CM’s stress on natural farming for value addition to agricultural produce
AMARAVATI:- The state government focusing on five point formula to make agriculture profitable by making revolutionary changes in cultivation to benefit farmers. As part of it MLAs visit the houses of farmers from November 24 to 29 to bring awareness among farmers on new farming methods. In addition workshops will be conducted at Rytu Seva centres on December 3.
Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu conducted a tele conference with ten thousand farmers and officials today to bring awareness among farmers and gave necessary directions to officials. The programme will be organized in the name of Rytanna - Mee Kosam and the staff working in Rytu Seva centres will play key role in the awareness programme. Speaking on the occasion the Chief Minister said that the state government committed for the welfare of farmers and credited Rs 6,310 crore in two installments under Annadata Sukheebhava – PM Kisan scheme. He said priority will be given for drip irrigation. He said the state government focusing on five point formula including water security, demand based cultivation, Agritech, food processing and Government support to benefit farmers. He said the awareness programmes should be conducted to dairy, poultry, horticulture and sericulture farmers in addition to regular farmers. He said action plan should be formulated by Rytu Seva centres to organize the programmes.
The Chief Minister said natural farming should be promoted to bring value addition to the agricultural produce. He said that with the natural farming soil will be protected and the government providing certification and traceabililty for organic products. He stressed the need for promoting organic products in rytu bazaars. He said the cultivation costs should be brought down using technology. The food processing units will also help to provide value addition to agricultural produce. He advised the farmers to minimise usage of fertilizers and pesticides. He said with better water management, the officials are able to fill all the reservoirs in the state.
