Harish Kumar Gupta Appointed as New DGP of Andhra Pradesh
The Andhra Pradesh government has issued orders appointing Harish Kumar Gupta as the new Director General of Police (DGP). With the retirement of Dwarka Tirumala Rao the day after tomorrow, Gupta will take charge as the state's top police officer.
A 1992-batch IPS officer, Harish Kumar Gupta is currently serving as the Director General of Vigilance. He will continue as the DGP until August this year.
Following his appointment, Harish Kumar Gupta met Chief Minister Nara Chandrababu Naidu in a courtesy visit.
