The Tirumala Tirupati Devasthanams (TTD), the official custodian of the world-renowned Lord Venkateswara Swamy temple in Tirumala, is all set to create a spiritual spectacle at the forthcoming Maha Kumbh Mela in Prayagraj, Uttar Pradesh. A replica of the revered temple will be erected at the grand fair to bring the divinity of Tirumala closer to devotees from Northern India.
The Maha Kumbh Mela, scheduled to be held from 13 January to 26 February 2025, is expected to draw millions of pilgrims from across the country. In this context, the TTD has planned an elaborate initiative to showcase the magnificence and spiritual essence of Lord Venkateswara Swamy at the 45-day mega event.
Maha Kumbh Mela 2025: A Glimpse of Tirumala at Prayagraj
The model temple of Sri Venkateswara Swamy will span 2.5 acres of land and is being designed to give devotees a true-to-life experience of visiting the iconic Tirumala shrine. According to M Gowthami, TTD’s joint executive officer (health & education), “The model temple of Sri Venkateswara Swamy has to come up in such a way that northern devotees should feel and experience the presence of the Lord of Seven Hills in the Maha Kumbh Mela itself.”
The temple replica will be adorned with intricate floral decorations and illuminated with dazzling lights, creating an enchanting and divine ambiance. Devotees visiting the fair will not only get to witness the architectural splendour but also experience the rituals and traditions of Tirumala.
Maha Kumbh Mela 2025: Bringing the South to the North
By bringing a slice of Tirumala to Prayagraj, TTD aims to extend the reach of Lord Venkateswara’s divinity and connect with devotees who may not have the opportunity to visit Tirumala. This initiative serves as a testament to the temple’s commitment to spreading spirituality and enriching the devotional journey of millions.
As the countdown to the Maha Kumbh Mela 2025 begins, the TTD’s efforts promise to be a significant attraction at this sacred gathering, offering an unparalleled spiritual experience to devotees
