Anakapalli:Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu said that those who misused Rs 500 crore public money for Rushikonda Palace are now resorting to false campaign against the government for organizing yoga programmes aimed at public health. The Chief Minister said that threatening to jail those who are building medical colleges under the PPP model is proof of their destructive mindset.
The Chief Minister participated in the Swachhandhra–Swarnaandhra programme at Tallapalem in Anakapalli district. He first interacted with sanitation workers and later visited a compost yard.

the Chief Minister said by June 2026, Andhra Pradesh must become a plastic-free state. He said the government has introduced the Andhra Pradesh Circular Economy and Waste Recycling Policy 2025.He said that sanitation workers themselves told him that awareness about segregation of dry and wet waste has significantly increased.
He stated that awards were presented to outstanding performers under the programme including 69 state-level awards and 1,257 district-level Swachhandhra awards.
While the government is taking the state forward through a combination of development and welfare, some people are obstructing the development mission in various forms. They file cases when land is allotted to IT companies and even approach courts against constable recruitments. When medical colleges are built under the PPP model, they spread false propaganda branding it as privatization.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi has brought global recognition for yoga. Yet, when Yoga Day is organized in a manner that brings worldwide recognition and enhances Visakhapatnam’s reputation some people are resorting to false and malicious campaign. We have transformed Visakha into an AI hub, a data centre hub, and a yoga capital.
The Chief Minister said that previous governments not only imposed a tax on garbage but also left behind 86 lakh metric tonnes of waste as a legacy. After the coalition government came to power, all accumulated waste was cleared. “Our goal is to make Andhra Pradesh plastic-free by June 2026.
The government aims to promote composting in 10 lakh rural households, encouraging people to convert household waste into compost and grow vegetables through kitchen gardens. After October 2 next year, plastic should not be seen anywhere in the state.
The Chief Minister said Anakapalli district is being developed as an industrial hub. Already, 24,843 acres are being developed for industries in Rambilli, Pudi, Nakkapalli, Valluru, and Makavarapalem.
MSME parks are being set up in Koduru, Parawada, and Achyutapuram. The district’s first private industrial park is coming up in Nakkapalli over 93 acres and 32 acres have been allotted to ALEAP for setting up an industrial park for women. Currently, 46 large industries are under construction in the district.
Anakapalli is home to the country’s second-largest jaggery market, and Anakapalli jaggery will be promoted. All irrigation projects in North Andhra will be completed, he assured.
After the coalition government came to power, the entire world is looking towards Visakhapatnam, the Chief Minister said. With ports, airports, highways, and international-level projects, the face of North Andhra is set to transform.
Through the recently held investment summit in Visakhapatnam, 610 MoUs were signed involving investments of Rs 13.26 lakh crore. Through SIPB, investments worth another Rs 8.29 lakh crore were approved. Together, these projects are expected to generate 23 lakh jobs.
At the partnership summit, 11 MoUs related to Anakapalli district were signed. Google is coming to Visakhapatnam; Cognizant has already arrived. Several prestigious companies, including TCS, are commencing operations. Global giants like ArcelorMittal–Nippon Steel are investing in the district. NTPC Green Energy is setting up a 20 GW renewable energy project with an investment of Rs 1.85 lakh crore.Visakhapatnam is set to become a hub for tourism, technology, and knowledge.
