People will not believe Telugu Desam chief Nara Chandrababu : Jogi Ramesh

Housing minister Jogi Ramesh declared that people will not believe Telugu Desam chief Nara Chandrababu Naidu’s mini-manifesto, as the former CM failed to deliver on his promises made in his 2014 TDP manifesto.

He recalled that in 2014, Naidu made 600-odd promises, including 1,000 per month dole to unemployed youth in the state, waiver of 14,500 crore Dwacra loans, bicycles to students, and 100 subsidy on each of 12 gas cylinder refills. But the TD chief did not fill most of these promises.

But now, Ramesh said, when Chief Minister Y.S. Jagan Mohan Reddy has fulfilled 99 per cent of his promises, the former CM has tried to undermine YSRC’s promise of giving free houses to poor. "Telugu Desam Party tried to stop free houses by filing cases in courts at every step. It even went to the Supreme Court, contending that giving houses to poor in Amaravati will create a demographic imbalance," he pointed out.

Yet, the minister said, Jagan Mohan Reddy has kept his promise of providing free houses to poor. Further, the YSRC government has deposited total 2.11 lakh crore into the bank accounts of SCs, STs, BCs, minorities and upper caste poor.

"Party manifesto is considered a holy book. Unlike Naidu, the Chief Minister has implemented 99 per cent of what he has promised in the 2019 manifesto," Ramesh maintained.
