The ancient festival of "Prabala Teertham," celebrated every year on the occasion of Kanuma, holds a history spanning 400 years. It is primarily conducted at Jagannathota, drawing lakhs of people from various districts to witness the grand celebrations. As invited by the Utsav Committee, Amalauram MP Shri Ganti Harish, P. Gannavaram MLA Shri Giddi Satyanarayana, and Andhra Pradesh Creativity and Cultural Commission Chairperson Smt. Tejaswi Podapati graced the event.
The Utsav Committee presented a petition to Smt. Tejaswi, requesting efforts to elevate this celebration to the status of a state festival. She emphasized the cultural significance of such events to the state and assured the committee that she would bring this matter to the attention of Chief Minister Shri Nara Chandrababu Naidu and Cultural Affairs Minister Shri Kandula Durgesh. She expressed her commitment to working towards officially recognizing the festival as a state celebration.
