Chief Minister Chandrababu Reviews State’s Gross Output with Planning Department
Amaravati, August 04: Governance that prioritizes Vision, People, Nature, and Technology will yield the best results, said Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu. He suggested that plans should be prepared with the goal of achieving quality living standards. On Monday, he conducted a review at the Chief Minister’s Secretariat with the Planning Department and senior officials from various departments, focusing on the state’s gross output and key performance indicators.
The Chief Minister stated that improving per capita income would enhance people’s living standards. He set a target of achieving a per capita income of ₹3,47,871 by the 2025–26 fiscal year, and projected a goal of ₹5.42 lakh per capita income by 2029.
Speaking on the occasion, the CM said, “Government departments must prepare and implement advance plans in their respective sectors. We should work with vision aligned to short, medium and long-term goals. We must identify global trends and seize emerging opportunities. Programs should be implemented with a focus on people, society, families, and individuals.
Take the family as a unit while designing schemes and programs, provide basic needs. Along with welfare schemes, initiatives should be taken to increase their incomes. Government policies and public mindset should align in a way that benefits the environment. Natural resources should be preserved while protecting nature. Waste produced in one industry should become raw material for another, thereby initiating a circular economy.
We must utilize natural resources efficiently. The best technology should be integrated into governance to provide improved services. From healthcare to agriculture, technology should become a partner. If we develop vision-centered governance for the people, while protecting the environment and integrating technology, we will achieve good results. That’s why governance must prioritize People, Vision, Nature, and Technology and work in coordination for the best outcomes,” the CM advised.
Value Addition to Products is Crucial
“Our programs must adapt to the rapidly changing developments and shifts in various sectors. Planning should be aligned with national and international changes. Value addition to our products is key. It is through this that the state’s gross output can grow significantly.
In mining and agricultural production, GVA is a primary factor. Only if GSDP grows can we deliver welfare and development to the people. Action plans should be implemented in a way that yields the best results across sectors,” Chandrababu suggested.
Officials informed the CM that horticultural crops have generated a GVA of ₹1,26,098 crore. Through aqua-related industries, a GVA of ₹1.12 lakh crore has been added.
Aim For Better Living Standards in the State
The CM clarified that along with economic development, providing quality living standards to the people of the state is essential. “Andhra Pradesh should become the state with the highest per capita income. Government departments must work to bring about a better society and better living standards. Study how standards are being defined at national and international levels. AP should play a key role in every sector.
Monitoring must take place from the village level to each family. Consolidate information about funds provided to beneficiaries by both the state and central governments. Record economic and public health details for each family.
Departments must record data on forest green cover, air quality, and per capita electricity consumption. Don’t limit yourself to just income and wealth creation,” the Chief Minister emphasized.
Every Sector Should Have an Indicator
“It is also important to define what standards are set to achieve results in various sectors. Currently, we are measuring 42 indicators through ‘AWARE’, other government departments must also define similar standards and establish their own indicators. By doing so in sectors like electricity, transportation, water resources, industries, and Swachh Andhra, we can achieve better living standards.
We must continuously examine how these standards compare nationally and internationally. Starting August 15, the government should make 700 services available online.
Singapore, with a population of only 60 lakhs and limited resources, has achieved international success. With over 140 crore people and immense resources, India has the potential to achieve far greater success.
We must not assume we are intelligent without observing the outside world. If the information collected through RTGS is consolidated, it becomes a great asset. That data can be analyzed and utilized through Artificial Intelligence to enhance the capacity of government departments.
Each department should review the progress made every quarter,” the Chief Minister advised.
Minister Payyavula Keshav, Chief Secretary K. Vijayanand, and senior officials from various departments participated in this review.
