Telugu Desam chief Nara Chandrababu Naidu on Thursday vowed to safeguard the interests of Andhra Pradesh by seeking and getting all requisite support from the Centre. Naidu announced that the swearing-in ceremony for the new AP Cabinet would be held on June 12. Naidu addressed the MP-elects at the TD Parliamentary Party meeting at his residence at Undavalli here on Thursday.

He said, “You will see a changed Chandrababu Naidu hereafter. Though I carry the blame that I never change, it will not be so from now. We are not going to rely more on bureaucrats for governance. We are going to have political governance. I want the MPs to meet me frequently. Even if I am busy, I will sit with you. I also want the MPs and MLAs to join hands and work in their areas. I will listen to every issue raised by you and attempt to solve it

He recalled how party leaders and activists faced hardships while some even sacrificed their lives in recent years. “I will never forget the sacrifice of a party activist who raised the slogan of ‘Jai TDP and Jai Chandrababu’ even at knife point.” He appreciate the commitment of such leaders and activists without succumbing to the pressures from the YSRC. Naidu said, “I believe that our party along with its allies got elected to power in the elections because of the hardships and sacrifices they underwent while in the opposition.

Meanwhile, the Telugu Desam chief has proceeded to Delhi to take part in the NDA meeting scheduled to be held on Friday. He advised the MP-elects also to attend the NDA meeting in Delhi on Friday. Naidu directed his chief security officer (CSO) on Thursday not to stop vehicles of citizens on the roads for a long time during the passage of his convoy in the name of VIP security. He said he did not want to cause inconvenience to the citizens.

The incoming CM’s comments came when he noticed several vehicles of citizens being stopped to give away to his convoy of vehicles when he left his Undavalli residence for the Vijayawada Airport.
