— CM N. Chandrababu Naidu at a media briefing
Amaravati, June 12, 2025: “We promised that no matter how many children a family has, every student would receive support under 'Talliki Vandanam', and today we have kept our word. As the coalition government marks its first year, we are implementing this crucial promise, one of the ‘Super Six’ guarantees. Under this scheme, ₹10,091 crore will be spent for 67.27 lakh students, out of which ₹1,346 crore will go towards improving school infrastructure.
There is a major difference between ‘Talliki Vandanam’ and the previous government’s ‘Amma Vodi’. They only covered 42,61,965 students, while we are covering 67,27,164 students—an increase of 24,65,199 beneficiaries. They spent ₹5,540 crore; we are allocating ₹8,745 crore, which is ₹3,205 crore more,” said CM Chandrababu Naidu.
He explained that even students of Class 1 and Intermediate 1st Year have been included, and once school admissions are confirmed, funds will be transferred. In cases where the mother is not present, the amount will go to the father or guardian; for orphans, the District Collector will designate a recipient. The scheme will also cover 76,000 students studying in private unaided schools.
To ensure transparency, beneficiary lists will be displayed at the village and ward secretariats. If there are any issues due to technical glitches, they will be addressed immediately upon application. Time has been given until June 26, and the final list will be published on June 30. The CM held a media briefing on Thursday at the Undavalli Camp Office to mark one year of the coalition government.
Majority of beneficiaries from weaker sections
Out of the 67.27 lakh beneficiaries, 29.82 lakh are BCs, 11.76 lakh SCs, 4.26 lakh STs, 66,500 minorities, and 8.44 lakh EBC students. “This is a step toward demographic equity,” said the CM. There are 18,55,760 families with one child, 29,10,644 with two children, 6,32,052 with three, and 80,212 mothers with four children.
“Across South India, the population is declining. Once, families with more than two children were disqualified from contesting in local body elections. Now, with fewer than two children, disqualification might become necessary,” the CM noted.
Welfare and development are the two eyes of NDA
“Welfare and development are the two eyes of the NDA. We are generating wealth, increasing income, and investing it back into development and welfare. Many questioned how a state in ruins could be revived. I made it clear: tough times are not for backing down,” said the CM.
‘Annadata Sukhibhava’ from June 20
“Under 'Annadata Sukhibhava', including the Centre’s ₹6,000 support, farmers will receive ₹20,000 in three installments annually. This will be launched on June 20. The previous government gave only ₹7,500—our difference is ₹6,500. Under the Deepam scheme, women are getting three free LPG cylinders.
To support fishermen, ₹259 crore has been transferred to 1,29,178 beneficiaries, whereas the previous regime gave only ₹109 crore to 1,09,231. We reached 19,947 more fishermen and spent ₹150 crore extra. Under pensions, while the previous government spent ₹21,631 crore annually, our coalition government has allocated ₹34,000 crore—₹12,370 crore more.
Those who boast of pressing a button must understand real welfare. They criticised that pensions cannot be delivered without volunteers. We are now distributing pensions with dignity, going door-to-door on the 1st of every month. Is any other state in India offering such high pensions? he asked.
First step in good governance
“In the last five years, the state was torn apart. There was no trace of development. While they talked of prohibition, they mortgaged state revenues for 25 years to raise loans—even Tahsildar offices were pledged. Employees didn’t get salaries on time; pensioners were neglected. We resolved all this.
Once NDA took charge, 204 Anna Canteens were reopened, serving 4 crore meals. Daily ‘annadanam’ is being launched in 21 temples. We will provide jobs to 20 lakh youth. We’ve already signed MoUs for ₹9.50 lakh crore investments, generating 8.5 lakh jobs. Lokesh is leading employment generation and investment promotion efforts. We are also finalising the unemployment allowance scheme and linking 'Aadabidda Nidhi' to P4.
Despite challenges, we are pushing through. I review the finance department for an hour every day. The poorest of the poor are among us. We aim to eliminate poverty and bridge economic inequalities. The NDA government is committed to improving living standards for every citizen,” said the CM.
You’ve seen my patience so far—no more tolerance for violence
“I will not sit idle if public safety or law and order is threatened. YSRCP destroyed the state and now cannot bear to see the development and welfare brought by the coalition. They are conspiring like demons to disrupt the state. They called Amaravati—the City of the Gods—a city of prostitutes. Is this what you support, meeting ganja peddlers in Tenali and taking rowdies to Podili to attack women?
Even after being reduced to 11 seats, they haven’t learnt. While we are solving issues, they are trying to throw the state into chaos, disturb law and order, and harass the public. They support criminals and wrongdoers. Why should the people support you? We are giving ₹12,000 per quintal for tobacco. Irresponsibly, they marched to Podili with thousands of followers.
Calling Amaravati a city of prostitutes—how arrogant must one be to say that? These vulgar comments were a prelude to their violence in Podili. They even attacked women with stones. I will not remain silent if law and order is disturbed. I will not compromise on public safety. Rowdyism will not be tolerated. So far, you’ve seen my tolerance. From now on, I will not hold back,” CM Chandrababu Naidu warned sternly.
