Tirumala Tirupati Devasthanams (TTD) announced the launch of Tirumala Vision 2047, an initiative aimed at the sustainable development, environmental management, and heritage conservation of the town. This initiative aligns with the state government's Swarna Andhra Vision 2047, with an emphasis on transforming Tirumala into a globally recognised model of spiritual and sustainable growth.
The TTD Board approved the project in a recent meeting, focusing on enhancing pilgrim facilities while preserving Tirumala's cultural sanctity. The initiative aims to blend traditional aesthetics with modern urban planning, as envisioned by Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu, who emphasised the need for simplicity, elegance, and sustainability in the development of Tirumala.
As part of the plan, TTD has invited reputed agencies to submit proposals for the development of a long-term strategy for Tirumala's growth. These proposals should include revising the Zonal Development Plan, formulating design strategies that respect the town's cultural ethos, and suggesting actionable plans for priority infrastructure projects.
The Vision Document for 2047 will outline sustainable growth strategies, ensuring that the religious significance of Tirumala is maintained while integrating modern urban planning principles. TTD's goal is to create a development model that balances ecological responsibility, heritage conservation, and the enhancement of the pilgrim experience.
Agencies with expertise in urban planning, architecture, heritage conservation, and environmental management are invited to submit their proposals within three weeks.
Naidu's ambitious Swarna Andhra Vision document, unveiled on December 13, aims to increase the per capita income from below Rs 2.55 lakh to Rs 35.7 lakh by 2047.
