Rebuilding Andhra Pradesh for the Future Generations
YCP’s Autocratic Rule Doubled Amaravati and Polavaram Construction Costs
We Will Fulfill All Election Promises
Numerous Development Initiatives Implemented in Seven Months
Victory of Alliance Candidates in MLC Elections is a Historic Necessity
- Minister of Energy, Gottipati Ravikumar
Amaravati/Macherla – Minister of Energy, Gottipati Ravikumar, criticized Jagan Mohan Reddy for pushing Andhra Pradesh into darkness despite ruling the state for five years. Campaigning in Macherla constituency, Palnadu district, in support of the alliance candidate Alapati Rajendra Prasad for the Krishna-Guntur graduates’ constituency MLC elections, the minister urged local graduates and teachers to support Alapati. He emphasized that winning the MLC elections is of historical significance and instructed local leaders to ensure that every vote is cast efficiently without being wasted. Unlike general elections, these elections follow a ballot system, and voters should be made aware of the importance of casting their first preference vote for alliance candidates. He stated that under the leadership of Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu, the alliance government is reconstructing Andhra Pradesh for future generations after the devastation caused by Jagan’s rule.
YCP Leaders’ Wealth Grew While People’s Burdens Doubled
Speaking to the media after the campaign, Minister Ravikumar expressed his anguish over the lack of a capital for Andhra Pradesh due to Jagan Mohan Reddy’s misgovernance. He lamented that the state was pushed into a debt trap worth lakhs of crores. During Jagan’s five-year rule, YCP leaders looted crores of public funds, while the burden of taxes and debts on the people doubled. The minister accused the previous government of irresponsibility, stating that not only was Amaravati’s construction stalled, but the cost of Polavaram’s construction also skyrocketed.
He highlighted that the construction of the diaphragm wall alone now costs ₹1,000 crores, a direct consequence of the YCP government’s negligence. He accused Jagan and his associates of completely ruining every sector and looting everything—from sand, soil, and mines to coastal and natural resources—over the past five years. He condemned Jagan’s leadership for setting the state back by 20 years despite being given a chance to govern. Ravikumar warned that Jagan continues to deceive people with false promises and urged the public to stay vigilant.
Salaries Were Uncertain Under YCP’s Rule
Minister Ravikumar stated that in the past seven months, the government has implemented several development programs. He criticized the YCP administration for failing to provide timely salaries to teachers and government employees. Under the alliance government, salaries and pensions for lakhs of beneficiaries are now credited on the first of every month. Additionally, the government has restarted the Anna Canteens and allocated ₹1,000 crores for road repairs. Construction of Amaravati and Polavaram has also resumed.
The minister asserted that all sectors were in disarray under Jagan Mohan Reddy’s rule, but with Chandrababu Naidu’s visionary leadership, the state is now recovering. He affirmed that the Chief Minister is making decisions with public welfare as the priority. He noted that it was only due to Chandrababu Naidu’s efforts that the central government allocated ₹10,000 crores for the Visakhapatnam Steel Plant, which is the rightful asset of the people of Andhra Pradesh. Despite the financial struggles inherited from the previous administration, the government remains committed to welfare programs without any compromises. Minister Ravikumar reiterated that all election promises will be fulfilled and urged the people to support alliance candidates in the MLC elections for the comprehensive development of the state. He specifically appealed for the victory of Krishna-Guntur graduates’ constituency alliance candidate Alapati Rajendra Prasad. The event was attended by local MLA Julakanti Brahmananda Reddy and several alliance leaders.
