    YogaAndhra 2025: International Yoga Day on June 21 - Month-long state-wide programs.

    Vijayawada, May 25 - The Andhra Pradesh Health Department has announced that the Andhra Pradesh government will organize a month-long campaign called 'Yogandhra 2025' across the state to celebrate the 11th International Yoga Day on June 21. Special Chief Secretary of the Health Department Krishna Babu said in a statement that yoga demonstrations, competitions and training programs will be held in all the districts of the state for a month from May 21 to June 21. He said that this program will be organized with the aim of increasing awareness among the people about the practice of yoga by organizing special yoga demonstrations at famous tourist destinations and historical places.

    Various programs will be organized at the state, district, mandal and village levels in this program. Yoga gurus, yoga instructors, volunteers, yoga practitioners and the general public can register and participate in these programs. Programs like theme-based yoga demonstrations, competitions and mass yoga practice will be held at famous tourist destinations in the state.

    In the first week (May 21-27), yoga performances will be held at Bugga Ramalingeswara Swamy Temple in Tadipatri in Anantapur district, Haritha Rock Garden in Orvakal in Kurnool, Gandhi Hill in Vijayawada, Gundlakamma Reservoir in Prakasam district. Special programs will also be held at famous places in Anakapalle, Chittoor, Konaseema, Srikakulam and West Godavari districts. During this week, special theme-based programs for yoga groups and yoga practitioners will be held in Guntur district, and yoga programs in prisons will be held in East Godavari district.

    In the second week (May 28 - June 3), yoga performances will be held at places like Undavalli Caves in Guntur district, Swarnala Cheruvu in Nellore, Puttaparthi in Sathya Sai district, S.V. Zoo Park in Tirupati, and Thotlakonda in Visakhapatnam. Special theme-based programmes will be organised in various districts for Anganwadi workers, health workers, farmers, medical officers, police, ex-servicemen, defence personnel, family yoga, auto and lorry associations, fishermen.

    In the third week (June 4-9), yoga demonstrations will be held at places like Tribal Museum in Araku, Siddhavattam Fort in Kadapa, Samarlakota Temple in Kakinada district, Chintapalli Beach in Vizianagaram, and Shilparamam in Anantapur. Special programmes will be organised for tribal community, ASHA and ANM workers, local associations and NGOs, teachers, elderly, cultural artists and youth organisations.

    In the fourth week (June 10-15), yoga demonstrations will be held at places like Mangalagiri Eco Park in Guntur district, Kondareddy Buruju in Kurnool, Kalahasti in Tirupati, and Vishwanatha Sports Club in Visakhapatnam. Special theme-based programs will be organized for unemployed workers, bankers, cooperative societies, business community, shopkeepers, street vendors, industrial workers, teachers and students, people with disabilities, and celebrities.

    In the fifth week (June 16-21), yoga performances will be held at places like Odapalli Temple in Konaseema, Manas Sarovara Park in Guntur, Maredumilli in Araku, Sriharikota in Tirupati district, Ahobilam Temple in Nandyal, NTR Beach in Kakinada. Special programs will be organized for village and ward secretariat staff, other government employees, sanitation workers, engineering students, sportsmen and women from youth organizations, self-help groups.

    On June 21, programs will be held at Suryalanka Beach and Ramapuram Beach in Bapatla on International Yoga Day. A special program will also be held at Lepakshi Temple in Anantapur district. Programs like yoga competitions, group yoga practice, mixed-age group yoga will be organized for all age groups across the state on that day.

    As part of this program, 2,600 master trainers will be trained and 1,25,000 village and urban level trainers will be made through them. The government has set a target of providing yoga training to 70 lakh people in the state through these trainers. These yoga competitions will be held at various stages from village level to state level.

    Three age groups can participate in the yoga competitions. Those from 10 to 18 years can participate in the “Junior” category, those from 19 to 35 years in the “Young” category, and those above 35 years in the “Senior” category. Solo yoga will include sections like asanas, surya namaskaras, pranayama, and meditation. Group yoga, yoga song, painting, yoga drama and dance, quiz, poster, slogan, essay, short film, photography, and three-part competitions will also be organized. These competitions will be held from 7:30 AM to 6:00 PM. The state level competitions will be held from 9:00 AM to 6:00 PM.

    To create awareness among the people about these programs, door-to-door campaign, a large-scale rally on May 27, and distribution of pamphlets will be organized. The government has requested representatives of various media outlets to widely publicize these programs in Telugu and English newspapers and television channels. The government appeals to all yoga gurus, yoga instructors, volunteers, yoga practitioners and the general public to actively participate in these programs and make the YogaAndhra 2025 campaign a success.
