Hyderabad: Setting in the mood for the upcoming Dasara festivities, the Sunday-Funday on Tank Bund was full of colour and lights. The heavy rains and thunderstorms that lashed the city during last couple of days did not deter the spirit of Hyderabad’s denizens who turned up in large numbers to enjoy a relaxed Sunday evening on Tank Bund road stretch.
Telangana’s favourite festival Bathukamma was celebrated with a lot of excitement and zeal at the Sunday-Funday event on Tank Bund. In addition, keeping in the mind the ongoing Navratri festivities, the Hyderabad Metropolitan Development Authority (HMDA) also organised Garba and Dandiya performances. While these were the major attractions for the citizens of Hyderabad, a laser show and fireworks enthralled both adults and children alike.
Meanwhile, the free saplings distribution, food stalls, handicrafts and handlooms stalls all continued with the same vigour as previous events. The Telangana State Police Women Safety Wing organised a fun learning and awareness programme on cyber safety and cybercrimes. Citizens were encouraged to take a stand against domestic violence and given awareness about the different initiatives being taken by She Teams.
The Telangana State Police made all necessary arrangements in implementing traffic restrictions along with making sure that parking for visitors was done in a smooth manner.
