K.T. Rama Rao will inaugurate BioAsia 2023 Today

HYDERABAD: The stage is all set for the 20th edition of the three-day BioAsia, the continent’s largest life-sciences and healthcare forum, which is being hosted by the state government at HICC here on Friday.

Industries minister K.T. Rama Rao will inaugurate BioAsia 2023 convention and will pitch for Hyderabad as the 'global pharma and life sciences hub'. Rao will aggressively promote Hyderabad pharma city, coming up on 14,000 acres in the city outskirts as the world's largest integrated pharma cluster. He is expected to invite global pharma and life sciences players to set up operations here given that it had all environmental clearances for the entire cluster, which quicken the processes. This will save about 18 months for the companies to launch their operations.

Niti Aayog member (health), Dr. V.K. Paul, Novartis CEO Dr. Vas Narasimham and industries principal secretary Jayesh Ranjan will take part in the inaugural event 

The BioAsia 2023 will feature top government officials, industry leaders, researchers, entrepreneurs and others, who all will explore ‘Advancing for ONE: Shaping the next generation of humanized healthcare’.

Among those gracing the occasion will be influential global leaders, including Prof. Robert Langer, Prof at MIT and co-founder, Moderna, Inc., USA; Dr. Richard Hatchett, CEO, CEPI (Coalition for Epidemic Preparedness Innovations), UK; Dr. Rahul Singhvi, CEO, Resilience’, Dr. Mark Abdoo, associate commissioner for global policy and strategy and Dr. Gregory Moore, vice-president (corporate planning) Microsoft, USA.

Indian representatives from the industry will include Dr Sangita Reddy, joint MD, Apollo Hospitals; Satish Reddy, chairman, Dr Reddy's Laboratories and Dr Gagandeep Kang, virologist, and professor, department of gastrointestinal sciences, CMC Vellore.

They will highlight the growing role of India in the global life sciences market and also deliberate on the opportunities and challenges for India as the companies look to scale further heights.
