Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy has assured full support for the speedy completion of pending railway projects and appealed to railway authorities to sanction rapid road and rail connectivity between Hyderabad and Amaravati.

At a high-level review meeting on pending railway projects held on Thursday, the Chief Minister reminded officials that Telangana was assured such connectivity under the Andhra Pradesh Reorganisation Act.

The State government has already requested the Centre for a 12-lane greenfield highway from Bharat Future City to Bandar Port via Amaravati and prepared a 300-km alignment proposal, he said.

Revanth Reddy suggested that railway officials study the survey and alignment proposals of the Hyderabad–Chennai and Hyderabad–Bengaluru high-speed rail projects in line with the new greenfield highway plan.

“Railways should consider the alignments prepared by the State government along with its own alignment proposals and move forward as per future requirements,” the Chief Minister said.

He further urged railway authorities to sanction additional lines to Warangal to boost its development alongside Hyderabad. He called for a new route between Bhupalpally and Warangal, and stressed the need to initiate development works at Kazipet Junction.

The Chief Minister also directed officials to expedite the Vikarabad–Krishna new railway line works and reviewed the detailed project report for the Gadwal–Dornakal line
