EC ordered transfer of Commissioners of Police in Hyderabad, Nizamabad and Warangal and 10 other officers

Hyderabad: The Election Commission of India has ordered the transfer of Commissioners of Police in Hyderabad, Nizamabad and Warangal and 10 other officers in the rank of Superintendents of Police. In addition to this, the Commission has ordered transfer of District Election Officers (DEOs) in Rangareddy, Medchal Malkajigiri, Yadadri Bhongir and Nirmal districts. The Commission has also ordered the transfer of the Transport Secretary, Director of Prohibition and Excise and also the Commissioner of Commercial Tax in Telangana.

Across the five States going to polls, the commission has ordered the transfer of nine District Magistrates / DEO, 25 Commissioners of Police / SPs /Addl. SPs, four Secretaries / Special Secretaries. The officials were asked to hand over charge to immediate juniors, with the ECI directing the State governments to send the panel by 5 pm on Thursday.

In Telangana, the government was also asked to appoint a principal secretary for the Excise department and also Commercial Tax department. The Telangana Chief Secretary was holding the additional charge of these departments.

The Commissioners who have been transferred were CV Anand (Hyderabad), AV Ranganath (Warangal) and V Satyanarayana (Nizamabad). The DEOs are S Harish (Rangareddy), Amoy Kumar (Medchal Malkajgiri), Vinay Krishna Reddy (Yadadri-Bhongir) and K Varun Reddy (Nirmal).

The other officers transferred are Transport Secretary KS Sreenivasa Raju, Prohibition and Excise Director Md. Musharraf Ali Faruqui, and Commissioner of Commercial Tax TK Sreedevi. The SPs who were transferred included K Manohar (Nagarkurnool), A Bhaskar (Jagtial), P Karunakar (Jayashankar Bhupalpally), K Srujana (Jogulamba Gadwal), K Narsimha (Mahabubnagar), G Chandramohan (Mahabubabad), B Srinivas Reddy (Kamareddy) and M Ramana Kumar (Sangareddy), N Venkateshwarlu (Narayanpet) and S Rajendra Prasad (Suryapet).

Following the ECI orders, Director-General of Police Anjani Kumar issued orders stating that CV Anand would hand over charge to Vikram Mann Singh, while AV Ranganath was to hand over charge to D Muralidhar. V Satyanarayana was asked to hand over charge to S Jayaram.

As for the SPs, Rajendra Prasad would hand over charge to M Nageshwar Rao, Ramana Kumar to P Ashok, Srinivas Reddy to Narasimha Reddy, Bhaskar to R Prabhakar Rao, Narasimha to Ande Ramulu, Manohar to Ch Rameshwar, Srujana to N Ravi, Chandra Mohan to J Chennaiah, Venkateshwarlu to K Satyanarayana and Karunakar to A Ramulu
