Kothagudem: The CPI (Maoist) North West Bastar bureau in-charge, Rupesh, has appealed to the government to halt the ongoing ‘Operation Kagar’ in Bijapur district on the Chhattisgarh-Telangana border for a month to create suitable conditions for peace talks.
He said everyone wanted to address the issue through peace talks
The Maoist party’s Central Committee has also issued letters expressing its readiness for the talks and making confidence-building measures.
But the government seems to have chosen the path of suppression and violence resulting in the ongoing massive offensive in Bijapur.
Rupesh wanted the government to ensure an amicable environment for peace talks, which he said would yield positive results.
He hoped that the government would respond positively to the Maoists’ request.
