Narayanpet–Kodangal Lift Irrigation project works begin soon : CM Revanth

Mahabubnagar: Even as the opposition BRS is charging large-scale irregularities in the Narayanpet-Kodangal Lift Irrigation project contracts being given to Megha Engineering and Infrastructures Limited (MEIL) and Raghava Constructions, Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy on Sunday made it clear that he was going ahead with the project. Speaking at Mahabubnagar, he said anyone obstructing pending projects in the district would not be forgiven by the youth of Palamuru.

As for the Narayanpet-Kodangal project, tenders were completed and works would commence shortly. The Mahabubnagar region was lagging behind in development for the last six decades. As efforts were being made to transform the region, a few vested interests were making baseless allegations and politicizing the works, he alleged after laying the foundation for ghat road works at the historic Kurumurthy Swamy temple in Chinna Chintakunta mandal here on Sunday. He directed the endowment department to prepare estimates for development of Kurumurthy Swamy and Manyamkonda temples and submit reports at the earliest

Later addressing a public meeting, the Chief Minister said as the State government was releasing funds to complete the pending irrigation projects.

“As son of the soil, if I fail to complete the pending projects in Mahabubnagar, history will not pardon me. If you have any anger towards me, derive your political vengeance in another way but do not obstruct development works,” Revanth Reddy said.

Accusing the previous government of not completing the Koil Sagar, Bheema, Nettampadu, Kalwakurthy and Palamuru Rangareddy Irrigation projects, he said migration was continuing unabated in the region.

Meanwhile, Roads and Buildings Minister Komatireddy Venkat Reddy said in 2009 he was the incharge Minister for Mahabubnagar. “We wanted to take up ghat road works at Kurumurthy Swamy temple but could not take up the works due to different reasons,” he said
